What Causes Frequent Urination?

Yes, I had a bladder infection months ago and it cleared up . But ever since it cleared up , I feel the urge to urinate more often than I used to but it s mostly after I drink (even a little bit) of water . Also when I go to urinate not as much urine comes out like I thought I needed to , there are also white little specks in my urine . I went to the doctor and they said the bladder infection was gone . So I ve been dealing with this for months, doesnt make me miserable but also I don t feel normal like before the bladder infection. I would like to figure out what s going on

Thank you for asking on HCM

I really understand your concern.

Based on your details it could be a recurrent bladder infection or kidney stone that cause frequent urination and white little specks in your urine.

An urine culture and an abdominal ultrasound with confirm the diagnosis.

Kidney stones treatment depends on location of stone, measures, clinical signs etc, and needs to be consulted with an urologist.

For kidney stones treatment Lithotripsy or breaking the stones with extracorporal sound waves may be required.

Small stones can be treated conservatively:
- Drink at least one large glass of liquid every hour.
- Avoid foods that irritate the bladder: caffeine, alcohol, tomatoes, citrus,
and spicy foods.
- Drink cranberry juice to help fight bladder infections. If you dislike the taste of plain cranberry juice, mix it 1:1 with another juice, such as orange juice.

The antibiotic that I would prescribe for you is Bactrim 960 mg one tablet twice daily for five days, and for the pain Pyridium 100mg three times daily for 1 to 2 days (this drug turns urine orange, but nothing to worry).
