Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I am sorry about night urination problems (
nocturia) you are experiencing. I understand it's very fastidious.
Problems with
frequent urination at night could be related to various factors. Taking into account that you are taking Hytrin at night, and although you are not indicating your gender. I suppose you are having problems with an
enlarged prostate.
Sometimes, residual urine following not completely emptying bladder which can be a source of frequent
urinary tract infection (UTI). So, urine analysis and urine culture should be carried out in this case for proper treatment with prescription antibiotics.
Natural antiseptics like cranberry or uva-ursi are strongly advised to use.
Furthermore, check your blood sugar levels. Avoid drinking water at night from 6 pm onwards. Try to go to the toilet each time you feel too, do not delay. Kegel's exercise will help in training the pelvic muscles. Discuss this with your
urologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
