Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son has been vomiting every time he eats since Nov. 2012. We have bee to numerous doctors and nothing has shown up. He had to have a NJ tube in February for 6 weeks to gain weight back and since it has been removed we are almost back to the weight he was before the tube. I was wonderin if anyone had any ideas and hoping that somethign new would show up.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your son having persistent vomiting after having food; was kept on NJ tube for 6 weeks, he regained the weight but lost again on removal of the NJ tube. Since the history \has not mentioned about the investigations, I would advise you the following for your son: Upper GI endoscopy. Barium studies under fluoroscopy control to see the motility problems. MRI of the brain is the central cause is suspected. Once the cause is found medical and/or surgical care can heal up the thing. If there is hiatus hernia, needs repair. Consult a Surgical Gastroenterologist so that proper diagnosis and treatment can be carried out.
