Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Our friend has been sick, and is on her period. She took dayquil yesterday morning; then last night she went out and drank a variety of alcoholic beverages. She threw up twice last night, and 3 more times since she woke up this morning at 11. She's tried eating, but she threw that up. She tried brushing her teeth, and threw up. We are really worried about her and don't know what to do. We're thinking about taking her to the hospital in a hr if she doesn't stop throwing up. Please help us.
Probably your friend is having gastritis from alcohol, causing vomiting. If persistent vomiting after oral medications in the form of antiemetic and proton pump inhibitor; she may require intravenous medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
