What Causes Gall Stones?
Can gallstones develop as a result of another condition such as a large kidney stone. Neighbor was diagnosed a month or so ago, but had to wait a for lithotripsy. Had nausea & vomiting, which she still has, in addition to pain. Her skin looks yellowish.

Kidney stones and gallbladder stones are entirely different and they are formed by different mechanism. Gallbladder stones are of two types biz cholesterol stones and pigment stones. High blood cholesterol and sedentary lifestyles may predispose to fall stones. People with increased turnover of red blood cells are also at a higher risk of developing gallbladder stone. However most gallbladder stones are regarded as idiopathic without a particular cause.
