What Causes Genital Area Itching Skin, Eczema, Redness And Hive Skin Irritation?
My question is a little embarrassing. I have been having itchy skin for the last year or so and my dr. says I have developed excema. I also get really itchy in the genital area and get redness and hive like skin irritation at the top of my thighs. I am allergic to sulfa. Also I do drink red wine often and have been for a few years now. Can red wine cause this itchy skin. It s worse in the genital area. My dr. once told me it s jockitch.
Hello Thank you for posting on HCM From your description, it seems you have got Tinea corporis/cruris, a sort of fungal skin infection. I would recommend you consult a dermatologist for proper management. I generally recommend proper course of oral antifungal drug like fluconazole / itraconazole along with local application of sertaconazole or luliconazole cream over affected areas. Take oral antihistaminics for itching as required. Hope this will take care of your problem Thank you Dr Hardik Pitroda
