Hi,For the past 2 days, I have been having greyish to light brown stools. No other symptoms besides moderate indigestion associated with acid reflux disease which i have. Two nights ago, i did engage in some drinking with friends, and the next day my stool was noticeably discolored. The color seems to have improved over the past day it seems to have gotten a little better, returning to a more light brown color with a grey hue. I was wondering if this could be like a gallbladder problem? but was confused because I m not in any pain. Thanks
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of greyish to light brown stools, moderate indigestion, acid reflux disease. Was engaged with drinking 2 nights ago and the next day there was discoloration of stool. there is no pain and hence confused whether this is a gall bladder problem. The color of the stool is white or clay colored when there is obstruction to the bile outflow and is called obstructive jaundice. The discoloration can be due to food, infection, drinks, changed bacterial flora and so on. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Tests of stool, urine and blood for liver functions. Watch for the change over to normalcy of the stool color, if it is returning to normal no need to worry; you may please take probiotics, curds, yogurt and banana; stop drinking altogether and have soft bland diet.
