Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 60 yrs old, and very lactose intolerant. Other than that and high blood pressure, I am extremely healthy. For two days I have had very dark green stools and have not eaten any kale, spinach or other dark leafy green vegetables. This has never happened to me before. Should I worry? Never mind--nothing in your ad said anything about paying have a great day and please remove my email address
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of being 60 and have lactose intolerance, high blood pressure, dark green stool for 2 days and had not eaten any kale, spinach or green leafy vegetables. The commonest cause of green stool is an intestinal infection. I would ad vise you the following: Get the stool tested and if there is an evidence of an infection get a 5 day course of suitable antibiotic and probiotic. Avoid outside food and have treated water orally. If there are other symptoms, consult your Physician for clinical evaluation and proper treatment.
