Hi I just noticed today that I have green mucus in my stools. I m 12 weeks pregnant I m not in any pain just noticed the colour when I went toilet and also noticed the stools were a bit darker then usual. I m not taking any iron supplements of taking pregnancy vitamins extra vitamin d and folic acid. Should I Be Concerned?
Eating spinach might cause slightly geenish stools but as said you had a whole green coloured stool.
it can occur in various conditions like excess unprocessed bile (which is to be digested by certain enzymes)or iron supplements,or iron riched diet, celiac disease or Protozoa infestation etc.
So,you can go for complete hemogram, urine and stool examination with liver functions tests with ultrasound abdomen to evaluate it further.
You need to see physician for further advice.
