What Causes Green Stool In A Baby After Eating Apple/banana/mango?
my baby is 7 month old.I started solid at 6 month old.today I gave her gerber apple for the first time. And she pooped dark green.two days ago she also pooed green. That time I gave her banana and mango. Is her green poop for apple, banana or mango? If yes should I continue to giving her these fruit?I am too worry.plz help me.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 7 months old baby, given gerber apple and she pooped dark green. Also happening with banana and mango. Green stool after fruits indicate a few things: The commonest being an infection. Since the baby is just 7 months the intestines start getting accustomed to the new bacterial exposure and respond accordingly. Giving the fruits as you have mentioned, has challenged the intestines for the first time and hence the green poops. Get the stool tested, if it shows infection your baby would need an antibiotic and supportive therapy.
