What Causes Group B Streptococcus Infection In The Vagina?
I was diagnosed with type b strep from a urine culture at an urgent care center. I went because of vaginal discomfort with a little bleeding. I am 66 years old and have had a hysterectomy. I have no other symptoms and am in good health. What is type b strep?

There are many different types of strep infections. One causes a sore throat, but really streptococcus species can cause infections almost anywhere in the body. Strep is just a type of bacteria.
