What Causes Growing Mole Like Mark Near Lip?

I have what seems to be a mole.. I don t know if you d call it that. Or tiny birthmark on the left side below my lip. It is very small. A few years ago it wasn t even there but recently it have grown significantly. It about the size of half an ant. (Best way to describe it) and I was just wondering if I should be worried/if it will get bigger?

Hello,

I can understand your concern for the tiny mole.

To tell you regarding moles: There are certain cells known as melanocytes in the skin which gives color to the skin. At some areas of the skin these are naturally and genetically more in number. At these places these proliferates inside the skin and forms the moles. It may appear any time after birth and is more common in people with white skin.

Generally these are seen with caution in case if you feel any itching or burning or pain in any mole or any increase in size suddenly above a pencil eraser or any kind irregular borders in your mole.

So, above points should always be checked and if find something like that or anything unusual then immediately should report to the doctor. After going through the history it appears to be simple mole which is quite small in size which generally arise at your age and are not to be taken as any disease.
You should not be worried about these areas as are totally normal condition and there is no need of any treatment.

All the best.
