Hello,

There are multiple reasons for hair fall. It can be either Telogen effluvium which is characterized by diffuse hair shedding and can be sudden (acute) or gradual (chronic). Telogen effluvium can be caused by nutritional problems, i.e., iron deficiency, anemia, low protein intake, starvation, etc., and metabolic issues like thyroid disorders, hormonal, post-pregnacy, acute illness, emotional stress and intake of medications.

Treatment includes correction of the underlying cause having high protein diet, multivitamin like Hairbless or Follihair, treatment of the iron deficiency, anemia, and thyroid disorders, if present. Generally, recovery is spontaneous and occurs within 6 months. Another cause of hair loss is androgenetic alopecia (patterned hair loss) which is genetic but can be sporadic also. There is stepwise miniaturization of the hair follicle, i.e., vellus transformation of terminal hair follicle. It usually starts with frontotemporal recession, i.e., receding hairline from front and then gradually involving rest of the scalp.

In case of females, it may start as thinning of midline parting. Treatment includes: Topical minoxidil, oral Finasteride, platelet rich plasma therapy and in later stages hair transplantation. Other causes of hair loss include: alopecia areata (patchy hair loss), scarring alopecia, anagen effluvium, etc.

In your case, take tablet Follihair once daily, get minimum your hemoglobin, thyroid profile checked, have well balanced diet with high protein intake. If it seems like androgenetic alopecia you can try Minoxidil 2% if you are a female or 5% if you are male. For stress you can try meditation, breathing exercise and if severe counseling. It would help if you could send pictures so that cause of your alopecia can be diagnosed and treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
