What Causes Hair Loss While On Medication For Glaucoma?

I m a 60 year old female, 5 foot 1 inches tall, 135 pounds. I ve been using glaucoma medicine and for a few years I have been losing a lot of hair, all my friends have commented on it. I ve had 3 different doctors and told them the anxiety it has caused me and they basically ignored me or said I was imagining it, even though I have lots of before and after pictures. Nobody has offered another medicine, maybe there isn t one, I wish someone would tell me if so instead of ignoring my complaints.

Hello,

I suggest that you see a dermatologist. There is most likely a cause for your hair loss having to do with hormonal changes or thyroid issues.

You need a thorough evaluation to determine the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson
