Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I encountered hallucinations on 9/10/14 , I figured because of the large number of meds. I am currently on. I am a senior (69) and have been home ever since the hallucinations happened. 1. status post stroke 1997. 2. debilitating arthritis, w/severe chronic pain & currently on significant narcotics 3.Osteoperosis. 3. Hypothyroid. 4. GERD. 5. Hyperlipidemia 6. pre-diabetic and other various diagnosis. I am currently on sleep meds.
I am sorry to hear that you are having hallucinations. This must be visual hallucinations by your question and these are a common occurrence with use of narcotics. In your list of medication and problems you state you do have chronic pain and take narcotic medications to control that pain. I would recommend that you talk with your doctor about either reducing your medication or changing it to something that will not cause hallucinations.
Hope this answers your question. Please contact us again with your concerns.
