I am a female 58 years old and several years ago I started experiencing my hands and feet getting very red. They do not hurt and they do not get hot. As a matter of fact, on rare occasions I will have a finger turn white (something like what I understand is like Raynaud s Syndrome). I am very active and on no medications.
As per your complaint redness of feet and hand seems to be most probably due to an allergic reaction that can be due to any food or medication while can also be due to an allergy to leather, latex, poison ivy, bed bugs. I would suggest you consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. The allergist can advise to oral anti-allergic as well as injectable steroids for relief. As of now, you can take anti-allergics like Levocetirizine, Allegra to control the itching and swelling also do cool compresses. Application of calamine lotion can help in soothing the skin.
