What Causes Hanging Sutures After Molar Extraction?

Hello. My husband just got home from having his #2 molar extracted and not even a half hour later one of his sutures fell out and is dangling in his mouth. We have a call in to the doctor but not getting a call back and wondering what to do. They are the dissolving sutures. Any advice?

should be considered if the suture is connected to the other node , or there is only one connection. if there is only one node , then there is a risk of opening . must connect to the dentist , because an open alveoli may be a source of infection . Thanks !
