What Causes Hard Bumps On The Rib Cage And Scab On The Scalp?

Hello, I have a hard pea size bump on my rib cage just under my skin. Most of the bumps my doctor always says its just a fat bump. Nothing to worry about. Do you think this is probably another one of those fat bumps. Plus on my scalp I get this small scab in the same place all the time. Then it will go away and come back periodically. What do you think that could be, my shampoo or hair dye?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history, you are having Lipoma and scalp folliculitis. My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on the scalp.
3. Only curative treatment of Lipoma is excision under local anesthesia done by a dermato-surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
