Im a 26 yr old female and just recently noticed a hard round mass on my rib right below my left breast it doesn t hurt but its worrying me. Its fixed to my rib and is about the size of a quarter. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks chasity
1.History suggest the possibility of the bony lesion - as consistency described by you as hard. 2.In this case i would recommend to get an ultrasound scan done. That will help to rule out that the lesion from breast. 3.At the same time will evaluate the nature of the lump, its source and extensions with blood supply. 4.A chest X-ray will help to evaluate weather involved the bone - if yes nature of its margins and peri-osteal reaction ( to differentiate benign from malignant) 5.An FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology will help to assess the nature of the cells involved. Further treatment or action depends on the findings.
