What Causes Hard Stomach And Breathing Changes In A Child?

Hi, My 2 year old son has had a hard stomach all day... and he would stop playing and his breathing would change and he would try to poop but nothing would come out... I was wondering if i should worry about this.. he was not himself and he just asked me to go to bed because he was really tired...which is not usual for him to do that?

Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to constipation.

You can use glycerin anal pessary to stimulate his motion after detailed medical examination and pediatrician consultation.

Till then you can keep him well hydrated. try to encourage him to eat more fibers including fruits and veggies. Prunes and raisins will also help him. Physical exercise is also important.

Hope I have answered your query, let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale, Family and General Physician.
