What Causes Hard Stomach With Swollen Belly Button?

Good evening! My father has a hard stomach with swollen belly button but he does not have any discomfort or pain in or on his stomach. He has had these symptoms from couple of years now but never discomfort or pain! Should I be worried and get it checked?

Get him checked out for umbilical hernia and ventral hernia( from weaker abdominal wall) May not be emergent , as long as no pain or vomiting or other symptoms, but needs to be evaluated for other causes. Can see a family physician or general surgeon.
