What Causes Hardening And Reddening Of Area In Leg With Vasculitis?
I have vasculitis. It is particularly bad on both legs. It limits my ability to be on my feet for more than 20 min. at a time. I have noticed that the area where the vasculitis is worse is turning hard. On many days, the area is also red. Can you give me more information on this?
I can understand your concern for hardening and reddening of area in leg with vasculitis. Vasculitis is common condition due to multiple causes. In some cases we are not able to find out the exact cause of the problem.
In my patients with your kind of problem I prefer to do a series of investigations. These investigations help us out in reaching to the closest possible diagnosis.
I suggest you to meet a dermatologist for the best possible cause of the vasculitis. I also prefer to go for biopsy of the area which tells the most precise reason for the vasculitis.
In my patients I prefer to give oral steroids and then taper it off and then give a maintenance therapy with different immunomodulator drugs.
You can take guidance from your dermatologist thoroughly and discuss the treatment option which can be best for you.
All the best
