Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! My sister has had 4 aorta valve replaced. She is 59 and has been doing okay. In the last few days, she was admitted to hospital & new cardioligist has informed her that the muscle in her heart is hardening. Can you explain what this means and anything that can be done?
Hi welcome to HCM. Hardening of the heart muscle can be a secondary repairative process to the underlying aortic valvular disease.Hypertrophied heart can be replaced by fibrosis in subsequent injuries. This portion of heart is less likely to participate in the functional activity of heart.Screening 2 dimensional echo can accurately.Consult your cardiologist for further queries. Thank you
