What Causes Hardening Of Skin In The Inner Part Of The Navel?
A few months ago I noticed scab on my belly button which I picked and it felt moist underneath the scab. The scab is reduced now but then the other day while standing in the shower I could feel what appears to be a hardening of the inner part of the belly button, just inside the abdomen. When I put pressure on it to feel how deep it is there is some irritation. What could this be doc?

-You most probably is having infection over your naval area,,,,which has
increased due to trauma caused by picking of the scab...
-You shoud take an antibiotic course like Augmentin 625mg(only if not allergic
to the salt) thrice a day for 5 days to combat this infection...
-apply a mupirocin cream over the affected area twice a day...
-Maintain a good hygiene of the area and clean it with normal saline...
-Take analgesic like declofenac for pain and antihistamine like levocitrizine
for any itching, if present
