I had the tdap vaccine on thursday morning and have been very tired with a bad headache that hasn t left. I started running a low grade fever on friday and saturday. Fever was gone on Sunday and replaced with extreme pressure in my temple area...popping sound in my ears when I swallow and a continued feeling of fatigue. It is now monday night and I have again started running a fever and feel really run down and extreme pressure in my head. Is this considered a normal reaction? How long can I expect it to last?
Hi. I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.
Usually tdap / DTaP vaccination presents with reactions like Redness, soreness, tiredness & swelling in the site where the shot is given .
Also aft 1 to 3 days after DTaP vaccination patient might present with Fever, fussiness, poor appetite, vomiting etc. & these symptoms lasts for 3 to 7 days. Only 1 in 10 adults will experience this side effect.
I advice you to -take rest -drink plenty of fluids -avoid foods that might increase your stomach symptoms - don't be panic & relax urself.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
