What Causes Headache And Cracking Noises In Neck?

I feel like my neck is always sore (recurrent for about 2 yrs now) and it makes crack noses as i move it around. It often gives me headackes and when it gets really bad, i sometimes feel the pain in the upper part of my spine. What could be the cause of this?
