What Causes Headache And Eye Pain After Intercourse?
I had a strange episode the other night... a headache started behind (and below) my left ear, and about 5 minutes later, both eyes began to burn. Upon looking, both eyes were extremely red and they both hurt (like muscle soreness) when I blinked. (I had just had sex, and the headache started immediately upon orgasm. I had not (never do) used any drugs. I did go to the ER, they did a CT Scan, said no anuerrism (sp?) and no brain tumor. I m just really still kindof bothered, and curious about what may have happened.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You have classic symptoms of what is referred to as coital headache. You should be examined to be sure you are not harboring any type of vascular malformation or fistula of the neck, etc. before considering the symptoms entirely benign. They can be successfully treated but only after certain nothing else is going on. A neurologist is the best person to make the diagnosis, preferably a headache specialist.
