Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Headaches that bring on tears! I would call them severe. How long has she had these headaches? Do you know of anything that brings them on? Is there a family of headaches? Do her biological parents have headaches? How frequently does she get headaches? Migraine headaches begin as a dull pain, progress to throbbing, to pounding, and then become constant. They are frequently associated with nausea and light sensitivity. One constant feature of these kinds of headaches is that the child looks sick. Does your daughter? Infection with influenza is usually associated with muscle aches and pains and more respiratory symptoms like cough and pneumonia. You may wish to treat her headaches regularly, every 6-8hours, with either Tylenol or ibuprofen. NO addictive drugs. And ear drops for ear pain. Let her remain home from school. If she still has head and/or ear pain after 2-3 days, I recommend to take her to her primary care physician. Sleep ends the attack of a migraine. Please note I am not saying she has migraines but when someone has severe headaches, that's one thing that should be considered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
