my 11 year old grandson has ran a fever that hovers from normal to 100.8 , with bad headaches and slight sore throat ( not strep ) for a week. NP said give him mortirn and he can return to school? if still has one Monday should be tested ?? but didn't say what for ???? is this normal

Nothing to be panic, consul an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while along with motrin you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin (if you are not allergic), Take steam inhalation.
