What Causes Headache, Dizziness And Nausea?

I m 65, have MS but somewhat ambulatory, may not have MS because neurologists now think MRIs show more of an ischemic disease than traditional MS. But beginning in September of 2017, I develop headaches accompanied with dizziness and nausea. A CAT scan in September showed some abnormality but can t remember exactly what it was. I feel sick to my stomach, have no energy, my head feels pressure all over, sort of like the flu, but not the flu. Everything else is under control - blood pressure ok, cholesterol ok, overweight, thyroid under control. Just feel sick....any idea what s going on?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to chronic fatigue syndrome. Coming to this point, I would recommend performing a cardiac ultrasound and a Doppler ultrasound of the carotid arteries to exclude any possible narrowing. Follow up with brain MRI every year is necessary to investigate for possible progression of the white matter changes. I would also recommend discussing with your attending physician on the possibility of starting duloxetine, which can help improve your situation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
