What Causes Headache Near Top Of Head?

For some weeks now I have been getting headaches near the top of my head, but over a small area, may be a square centremetre. It does drift around, but comes back to the same spot in the main. I am not sure but it may be slightly painful to touchI sometimes feel sick and dry retch.

Hello,

A headache on top of the head be worrying but in many cases, it is not cause of concern. however there are several different types of headache, and each may have its own trigger in different people. People have muscles and nerves that can contribute to headache, and they may need to visit the doctor with certain symptoms.common cause of top headache:
- Tension headache
- Chronic headache
- Migraine headache
- Brain freeze
- Cluster headache
- Sinus headache
- Sleep headache
- Overuse headaches
- Sleep deprivation headaches
- Exercise headache

TREATMENT: There are number of ways a headache on top of head can be treated:
* OTC medication - An occasional headache may be treated with OTC medications. These may include NSAIDS such as ibuprofen, aspirin, Naproxen after prescription
* DIET - You should include diet changes also. Caffeinated drinks like coffee or tea may help, some times plenty of water may help, eating light snakes may also help
* SELF MASSAGE -It can help some times relieve tension in head and neck, massaging the muscles on the side of the neck and head and jawline muscles
* LIFESTYLE CHOICES - Reducing stress levels with breathing exercises or yoga, getting more sleep, maintaining good posture. See a physiotherapist or massage therapist, get regular acupuncture sessions.
