Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Headache, Weight Loss And Fatigue While On Savella?
I have been taking Savella for just over 2 weeks for fibermyalgia. After 6 days on 50 mg. I am having headaches, nausea, lack of appetite, fatigue and weight loss, and loose bowels. About the same time, I noticed the fibermyalgia pain had lessened. I have 13 days left, and am wondering if I should continue it, or stop it? Thank you for your advice.
Savella is approved for pain of fibrmylgia. This may help fibrmylgia, however it do have side effects. This you mentioned are typical side effects of this drugs. However none of these side effects is very serious and many of them go away with time.
So, I understand you should continue taking the drug and see if the side effects decrease with time then its OK. I would also recommend to take the drug after meals. However if the side effects persists or become more troublesome then you should talk to your doctor to stop it. However do not stop the drug abruptly as it may cause withdrawal effects.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
