Hello Sir /madam,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I can certainly understand your concern

It seems that your mother is suffering from migraine type of head ache as it is unilateral, which is one side of the face, and is common in women .

I would like to know is there any history of head injury, in that case with all these symptoms its better to rule out any major pathology by CT scan. If not there is nothing to worry, you can start on NAXDOM during acute attack of headache, and can start on TOPIRAMATE prophylactically to prevent further attacks,If she is already on the same medications, you can check with your physician and get help.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you
