I have a swollen occipital lymph node that is not painful but itchy. It has grown quite large over the past few days and is accompanied by night sweats, headaches, confussion, a lost feeling, slight blurred vision. What could thins be and what do i do?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if the swelling or the lesion growing rapidly then it has to be ruled for abscess formation, it may be due to bacterial infection. Lymph node enlargement is pretty common condition and it may be nonspecific if does not associated with any symptoms like low grade fever, loss of appetite, tenderness. Differential diagnosis is matter of concern if this is not the lymph node, like it can be lipoma or some malignant tumor. It is advisable to go for clinical examination for final diagnosis condition may requires some work up, hope this information helps, taka care.
