What Causes Headaches, Allergies, Stomach Cramps And Acid Reflux Feelings?

Hello, my son is 25 years old and has had a headache rendering from the bottom of the ear/ base of the skull, traveling upward to the temple for 5 days. He visited a walk in clinic and he was diagnosed with alllergies and given a prescription for prednizone 20mg. He also has some stomach cramps as well, feeling like acid reflux. Any suggestions on what this could be?

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM! I appreciate your concern!

These symptoms seem to be related to a tension type headache or a temporal arteritis.
A temporomandibular junction arthritis could also cause a similar clinical scenario and a dentist consult may be helpful.

I would advise to consult with the GP and perform a careful physical examination and a routine blood test for inflammation.

Regarding the stomach cramps and acid reflux, I recommend you to consult him with the gastroenterologist and perform a fibrogastroscopy, to exclude a possible gastritis or reflux.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
