What Causes Headaches And Thick Mucus In The Mouth?

I have been headaches for about 6 months now. I just realized I have an indent about 3 inches long from my forehead back into my hairline. (Most of it is under my hair.) I have also developed a lot of extremely thick mucous in the back of my mouth (and into the top of my throat) in about the last week. Is there any possibility these can be related? Or all seperately what they might mean?
