What Causes Headaches At The Base Of The Skull That S Affecting Speech?
I have been suffering with my head hurting since the middle part of September of 2017. The pain started at the base of my skull in my head progressed and radiated all the way around my head, and soon affected my speech, my ability on my right side and I am still having a lot of pain and difficulty. I have been seeing a neurologist since October. I don t feel I am being fully treated; because I have been taken out of work and I don t have insurance right now. Any help would be appreciated right now.
Such pain combined with speech issues and right motor deficit certainly need to be investigated. A MRI is necessary as it may be a manifestation of a left side brain lesion such as a tumor, stroke or infection. If you have been seeing a neurologist though I believe he must have requested some imaging test like MRI or CT already, I suspect you haven't brought all the details regarding the tests you've had.
So please provide some more information regarding test reports. If you haven't had any tests at all then they should be scheduled by all means given those symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Olsi Taka,
