I had bacterial meningitis when I has 6 months old I am now 45 but I have not felt good on and off for a few years headaches at times I am confused like very forgetful at times bright lite brothers me I just do not feel good and have seen a doc for it many test have been done and everything comes back good could I have or get it again I have ask that and get no I have at this moment strep on my skin is this the same bacterial that causes meningitis should I seek out a doc who would do a meningitis test so far I cant get my doc to do it I wake up feel ill few days out of the week and don t know why thank you DAWN COCHRAN
Regarding your concern, your symptoms don't seem to be related to recurrent meningitis. You shouldn't worry about it!
Migraines could be the cause of your headache. From the other hand, other causes should also be excluded like:
- possible brain lesion - inflammation
From the other hand, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist and performing a brain MRI, some lab blood tests (complete blood count, inflammation tests).
If all the above tests are normal, you should discuss with your doctor on the possibility of starting a preventive therapy (like a calcium channel blocker, an antidepressant or an antiepileptic drug) for some months.
