I am loosing my hair - its falling out on my pillow and when I try to brush it. I had a gall bladder surgery two months ago and since then I have been loosing my hair, I have had boil like skin erruptions which my doctor treated as a yeast infection and then as a staph and it finally went away but I also have a pain in my armpit but there is no lump that I can feel or see and I just don t feel great - headaches, mild nausea - I am not sure if these are symptoms (I can t imagine) for anything for if I am just really run down.....

Hello,

Severe hair loss commonly occurs due to poor general health, dandruff in hair, poor blood circulation in the scalp, anemia, poor nutrition, vitamin deficiency, etc. You are suggested to take a balanced home made diet, full of green veggies, protein, calcium and minerals. Take well cook food. Avoid eating raw veggies, salads and fruits for a couple of days, cook them well before eating. Take vitamin and calcium supplements. You can take capsule logihair, once daily for ten days. It will prevent hair falling and promote natural growth of hair.

Use Selsun shampoo once daily to do away with all dandruff, dandruff triggers hair fall. After shampoo keep your hair oiled. Massage your scalp with almond oil or any oil that suits you. Headache is due to dehydration, low BP, low blood glucose, lack of adequate sleep, stress, etc. You can take acetaminophen, one SOS when required. You are suggested to get clinically examined by your treating doctor to assess the pain in the armpit and detect presence of any lumps. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
