What Causes Hearing Loss And High Pitch Noise In Ear?
I suffer from allergies and have had them all of my life. A little over a week ago I lost the hearing in one of my ears and hear nothing but a high pitch noise. This has never happened before and I am 64 yrs old. I have seen a nurse practitioner and received a steroid shot on Thurs. and nothing has changed. She said that the ear had fluid and a small bulge and should clear up. It is really starting to alarm me, can you tell me how long my hearing could be effected.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history of allergy for a long time but the recent incidence of blockage in one ear and the nurse saying fluid in it will take 3 weeks to resolved if you continue a proper treatment. For a proper treatment you will have to consult an ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation, examination, investigations if required and a 3-week course of medicines Follow up properly to see the effectiveness of the medicines.
