What Causes Hearing Loss In The Left Ear After Taking Z-pack For UTI?

Hi my name is Linda i went to the doctor 10 days ago they gave me a z.pack for uri. I havent been able to hear out of my left ear for 2 wks i figured from congestion i still cant hear wat i hear sounds like a tunnel real far away. The doctor told me it would be 2 or 3 wks til it cleared up its been 2 wks its getting worse. Please help thank you

Hello,

Hearing loss you are experiencing is most likely to be due to infection pr fluid accumulation in ear due to congestion. Please follow up with an ENT specialist to confirm the diagnosis and see if appropriate antibiotic need to be initiated. If fluis is only present, it can take few weeks to clear up completely. Meanwhile, use nasal decongestant drops and do steam inhalation daily to relieve congestion.
