I m having trouble hearing through my right ear. My left ear is fine, but it s just my right ear that is the trouble. I rarely listen to music and am not around loud sounds like concerts. I need to know if this is something I don t need to worry about and that it will go away or if it s a serious condition. And if it is a serious condition, what can I do to treat it?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You have not given me your age and sex. do you have any ear pain or ear discharge or any throat pain right now? Possible causes for this hearing loss may be due to eustachian tube block, allergy, pharyngitis, ASOM, any viral ear infection. if you are a 45+ female may be due to meniers disease. As it is difficult to diagnose simply by history you need to consult an ENT who will do pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, audiogram to realize the extent of loss along with otoscopy and pharyngeal examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
