What Causes Hearing Of Sounds From Chest When I Lay Down?

For the past couple nights when I lay down, I hear a externally audible clicking sound coming from my chest. My heart seems to beat harder when it does it, and I can tell the clicking is going along with each beat. If I move it will stop for a minute, then come back. Then after a little while the clicking stops. What could this be? Should I see my PCP or is this normal?

Hi welcome to HCM
I understand your query and concern.
Your symptoms are suggestive of Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. So immediately get investigations like ECG,2 dimensional echocardiography, lipid profile, chest x ray.Click sounds are due to inability of heart to contract which leads to excessive pressure causing a click sound.Drugs like beta blockers, ionotropes ,anti hypertensives will be helpful in your case.Valsalva manoeuvre will lessen your symptoms.Report to your doctor if you have symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain.Consult your cardiologist for expert management.
Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.
