What Causes Heart Beat Feeling In Throat With Light Headed?

I am female. Very occasionally it feels like my heart beat gets out of whack. If I cough it seems to make it better. Over the past 2 days I am experiencing this weird feeling of my heart beating in my throat. I have not chest pain or other signs of a heat attack. Right now I am feeling slightly light headed. I am wondering if I should go to the ER?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Palpitations in your case are responsible for causing the sensation of lightheadedness.I advise you to have a baseline ecg and a screening 2 dimensional echocardiography to rule out the organic heart disease.Drugs like antiarrhythmics can control the fluttering sensation.A 24 hr holter ecg can help to document the nature the origin if these heart rhythm disturbances.Hydrate yourself adequately to prevent low blood pressure.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you.
