What Causes Heart Burn After Having Doxycycline?

Hi, my 22yr old daughter was prescribed doxycyclene by her dermatolgist to take for 30 days, she has about 4 days left but has stopped because as of yesterday morning she woke up in the middle of the night with severe heart burn in her esopohagus and it is not going away. she did take a pill at bedtime and then lied down rite away I think it may have dissolved in her throat do you have any suggestions on this? or have you ever heard of this issue while taking doxycyclene?

Hello,

Yes, it is quite common side effect. Do not worry, just start tablet rabeprazole with Levosulpiride combination, till doxycycline is being taken.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
