Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm a 56 year old otherwise healthy woman who just experienced 30 minutes or more of heart fluttering. Felt like a butterfly left side of chest. Scared me, but don't want to sit in the ER if not serious. I do not have any other symptoms except my left leg has been having spasms all day. Any advice?
hello, I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM. If butterfly sensation in heart has not recurred again you may go for elective check up.But it is very important to get ECG while you have ongoing symptoms because certain arrhythmias like SVT can be picked up only while you have symptoms. So better to get an ECG while you have ongoing symptoms. Otherwise Investigations like ECHocardiogram,Exercise stress test and /or holter monitor will guide you for the diagnosis, My best wishes Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
