Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Heart Palpitations After Taking Zinc And B Complex?
I was taking 50mg of zinc and B complex supplements for about 2 weeks daily. I started to get some heart palipations so I cut down to 25 mg of zinc and Bcomplex for about a week. I have stopped altogether but am still experiencing the palipations. should I be worried?
Multivitamin supplements are relatively safe drugs and do not cause any serious side effects. Since you are experiencing palpitations even after stopping the drug, other causes of palpitation should be identified. Anxiety / panic attack and cardiac disorders are the two important diagnosis to be ruled out. I would suggest you to take an ECG as a first step to rule out cardiac disorders like arrhythmia.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
