What Causes Heart Palpitations And Sore Xiphoid Process?

I have palpatations that wont go away I have had ekg and stress test and was told everything is fine. I have a hiatal hernia and acid reflux. I take nexium that helps heartburn that I have been on for years. Dr put me on a mild dose of zolof. I also have high cholesterol and take Zocor for that for years. My heart is pounding and I feel jittery inside my body and my xyphoid process is very sore. I dont know whats wrong?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

After going through your medical details I understand your concern. I would like to tell you that if all your cardiac workup was normal then cause of palpitations and sore Xiphoid process is Hiatal hernia. This needs proper treatment and this treatment will be required for longer duration. Kindly consult with a Gastroentrologist for further management.

Hi,

Even if you experience the palpitation but that might not be due to any heart disease but it seems to be due to anxiety.

If the concern tests are unremarkable so it is not the heart disease causing you palpitation, hyperacidity and anxiety could be the cause for palpitation with the proper treatment it may go away.
