What Causes Heart Palpitations And Throbbing Sensation In Head After Taking Losartan?

I am a 65 year old male in good health and good physical condition. A week ago, I started taking Losartan 50mg once a day for moderately high blood pressure (160/75). Since I have started the medication, I have had a throbing sensation in my head where I hear my heartbeat. It doesn t hurt, it is just annoying with the steady beating. Never had that sensation before. Could it be the medication or should I get checked out for something else?

hello there

I understand your concern
Head throbbing is certainly not because of the Losartan. Your heart rate needs to be controlled too. I feel you need an afternoon dose of losartan too and an added beta blocker to control your symptoms

Hope that helps
Cheers
