Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having heart palpitations for a few weeks. Last week my dentist confirmed an infection and I need 2 teeth extracted. I have been on antibiotics for a week still feel like I am fighting something. I continue having irregular heart beats. My husband, a paramedic, felt my heart beats and felt my heart when it skipped. He called it afib. Could my irregular beats and mouth infection be related?
Dear I can understand your concern . Irregular heart beat originate in heart and has many causes . It can only be diagnosed by ECG or if needed Holter monitoring . It may be because of 1 . hypertension 2 . diabetes 3 . hyperthyroidism 4.any heart problem. 5 .electrolyte abnormalities 6 . infection So for proper diagnosis we need complete work up and investigation . Atrial fibrillation can only be diagnosed by ECG. So discuss about this with your physician . Hope this will help you. Thanks for contacting HCM .
